I’ve just brought a new laptop and would like to delete all the stuff off of my old one to sell it on, does anyone know how to delete everything off an ubuntu system?
Just do a clean install of ubuntu.
Run Darik’s Boot And Nuke, it will securely wipe-out your hard drive. Then just reinstall Ubuntu.

samsung r780 laptop.I have a laptop I want to download latest drivers on it such as the video card but I am using a Linux operating system, Ubuntu.
I am very new at this Linux stuff and it can be frustrating. I don’t have the money now to buy a user friendly os so I am experimenting. Any help will be great! ;}
It will depend on what video card you have in your computer. Ubuntu already has most drivers necessary to function. If it is Nvidia or ATI, you should go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers to see if there are any proprietary drivers available. This will also work if there are any drivers needed for your wireless card or any other components.
Updating a Video Driver for a newer laptop can be a little tricky since some of the updates have not even been created. You need to find out your make and model of the video card and then go into Synaptic and download the newest updates. If you cannot find any then you may need to compile them from source after finding them on the web. If you are using an Intel Driver then you can search Linux Intel Drivers and there is a page designated where you can download the newest update and run a compiler. Hope this helps.
