My brother wanted one of these kinds of laptops for Christmas(you can find it at toys r us and just type in the name of the laptop) and I wanted to know if I could video chat with him if i have a webcam. This laptop that he wants has one built in, but I’m not sure if i can video chat with him from my Dell laptop. Thanks!
I not sure since you didn’t say which Chat service you use. I use Skype it works great on Linux.

Yes you can do any thing you like on a Linux based computer, you will just have to learn a new OS…
Yes. You might want to do some more research about linux before buying a linux machine so you know how to use it.
Yes you can surf the net with a Linux system, and you can do almost anything (and probably more) than you can with a Windows based system. Note though that Windows applications, and games, generally won’t work in Linux. There is loads of free software out there though for Linux.
Be warned though if you are used to Windows, you may find it takes a bit of getting used to as it is quite different.

- Surf the Internet
- Write documents
- Instant-Messaging
- Updates
- Install/Uninstall software
- Play games
